The Iran war, which has now brought in nations throughout the Middle East, and has two nuclear-armed states attacking a country which is threatening to create nuclear weapons. The potential use of nuclear weapons lingers as a threat. Benjamin Netanyahu or Donald Trump could order a nuclear attack at any time. Stopping the war is the priority.
The current crisis presents an opportunity to mobilize for common-sense policies to prevent nuclear war. Panelists Diane Swords and Don Hughes will talk about the history of grassroots anti-nuclear activism, current realities, and the policy objectives of the national “Back from the Brink Campaign to Prevent Nuclear War.”
There will be small group discussion from 4-5 during committee breakout sessions. Past grassroots action has led to reductions in warheads, eliminated almost all nuclear testing, and generally helped ease international relations.
Let’s do it again!
