Everyone Counts Briefing: Join a 2-hour briefing on Oct. 6 at 3pm hosted by PowerLabs to learn about Everyone Counts—an open-source meta-narrative and set of suggested tactics that organizations can adapt to engage the public and our institutions to ensure a free, fair, and constitutional election.  Here is their Eveyone Counts messaging on voting and the election. Activist For Life is a website whose goal is to provide tools to nonviolently resist authoritarianism. It has an amazing number of resources and is worth spending some time on.

Voices for Creative Nonviolence has created a Counter-coup unarmed community resource list. They will continue adding to it. Voices has long-standing roots in active nonviolent resistance to U.S. war-making, is committed to strategic campaigns and experiments, and engages in active nonviolent resistance. 

Their Democracy and Ours, Tues, October 13, 7:30-9pm  - Angela Davis in conversation with Astra Taylor on fighting for democracy in a time of crisis.  Building on the insights of Astra Taylor’s award-winning film, “What is Democracy?”, renowned activist and writer Angela Davis and journalist, film-maker and activist Astra Taylor discuss what we can and should do now in this time of unprecedented crisis, but also of opportunity.  One of the main questions—how can a diverse coalition of activists young and old work together to map a path forward?


There are creative ways to help prevent voter disenfranchisement! The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition is a grassroots, membership organization run by Returning Citizens (Formerly Convicted Persons) who are dedicated to ending the disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions, and creating a more comprehensive and humane reentry system that will enhance successful reentry, reduce recidivism, and increase public safety. They have a fines and fees program which helps Returning Citizens pay the fines so they will be able to vote. " Check out the We Got the Vote program and its Fines and Fees program.
