March for a Nuclear Free Future / Hiroshima Day

Tue, Aug 6, 2013 11:30am - 1:30pm
201 East Washington Street, Syracuse NY 13202

Peace Action and the Syracuse Peace Council commemorate the tragic nuclear bombings of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, and we renew our commitment to creating a nuclear-free world. We also remember the disastrous meltdown at the Fukushima Daiitchi nuclear power plant in 2011. We know that nuclear contamination is equally dangerous whether it comes from bombs or power generation, and the promotion of nuclear power worldwide contributes to nuclear weapons proliferation.

How to Get Involved:

Show up and grab a prop. If you would like to help more, please call the Peace Council and let us know!

Global NATO and the Catastrophic Failure in Libya

A talk and book signing followed by Q&A by Dr. Horace G. Campbell.

In  his new book, Dr. Campbell brings out the hypocrisy of the West in presenting the NATO intervention as a humanitarian exercise when the goal of the mission was regime change and the execution of President Gaddafi. The increasing Western military intervention in Africa is the context for Dr. Campbell's passionate critique of the Nato Mission in Libya.
