Syria Teach-in Part II
Presentation and Discussion with Yasser Munif

Dr. Yasser MunifWe are happy to announce that Dr. Yasser Munif will be joining us via Skype at ArtRage Gallery on Monday for a discussion about the current situation in Syria. Munif is a scholar-in-residence teaching Middle Eastern Politics and Society (among other subjects) at Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts. He is Syrian-born and has traveled to Syria many times in recent years. During his latest trip over the summer of 2013, Munif spent 2 months in Northern Syria and interviewed approximately 160 Syrians about their experiences. He will speak about Syrian social movements, the geo-political context of the conflict in Syria, and his ideas about how Americans should respond.

Last week, for Part I of our teach-in, we showed the film The Suffering Grasses and had a discussion with production manager Abdulwahab Tahhan. There is no need to have attended Part I before attending Part II. If you missed the movie, but would like to see it, you can arrange to watch it at the Peace Council office, by contacting Jessica (315) 472-5478.

Monday's event is free and open to the public. Please help us spread the word.
