Why Did We Organize a Watch Party for this Wednesday’s webinar?

SPC’s Beyond War and Militarism Committee (BWaM) is organizing to support the Merchants of Death War Crimes People’s Tribunal and this webinar will be a good introduction to it. The Tribunal will open on Sunday, November 12 with a live-streamed session (BWaM will organize a watch party for it). The entire Tribunal will then be streamed over consecutive weeks examining war crimes committed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Gaza and Yemen by any of four U.S. weapons makers.

What is the Purpose of this Wednesday’s Webinar?

This Wednesday’s webinar, organized by the War Industry Resistance Network and Massachusetts Peace Action offers an introduction to the Merchants of Death War Crimes Tribunal. The Merchants of Death War Crimes Tribunal has charged four U.S. weapons makers with War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity: Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and General Atomics. The webinar will discuss the actions and effects of these war profiteers and how the Tribunal is holding them accountable. Webinar presenters are:

Brad Wolf is a co-coordinator of the Merchants of Death War Crimes Tribunal, executive director of Peace Action Network of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, writer, and former lawyer.

Norman Solomon is a U.S. journalist, media critic, author and activist. His latest book is War Made Invisible: How America Hides the Human Toll of Its Military Machine, He co-founded and directs the activist organization RootsAction.org.

Dr. Aisha Jumaan is the founder and president of Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation, which aims to increase awareness among the U.S. public and policymakers about the humanitarian crises in Yemen, support relief and reconstruction efforts, and facilitate campaigns to bring peace there.
